Michaiah ages into a teen who, while ugly, was just not as ugly as God was hoping for. A quick makeover helps that along, however, and now he looks like someone I wouldn’t let into my home.

Following in the family habit, he rolls a Romance aspiration, though I don’t know what self-respecting Sim would want to suck face with any Pugsley since Kaebrianl. Speaking of which, Norman has been cultivating a thing on the side with the maid, Lucy, while Sandy has been pursuing Daniel Pleasant for some extracurriculars of her own, but neither has gotten to sleep around nearly as much as they’d like. Maybe during that home stretch of elderhood.
Michaiah has been patiently getting to know Carmen Patch since childhood and is now best friends with her.

Hoping to speed along the time that he can be together with his intended, Michaiah tries out some elixir in the basement while at a green aspiration level. Alas, the elixir invigorates him and takes away the one paltry day of his teenhood that had mercifully already passed! Swig after swig results in sparkly good health, Michaiah’s bar staying firmly planted at 15 days remaining in his teenhood. God decides she would be happy with a single bad batch, just to get back the lost day and shear off a couple more. But alas, when he finally gets a bitter glass, no days are added back! Terrified that all the extra added days are hiding there and Michaiah will have the longest teenhood in history, God backs him off the elixir.
Meanwhile, God notices with some dismay that Juan and Kaebrianl, while fairly far from the end of their lives seemingly moments before, now have bars with a somewhat ambiguous small amount left–it could be one day, or it could be two. To hedge their bets, an emergency drive is begun to get them both in platinum by 6PM. Skilling is begun to add the skill points they want; flirting occurs; an anniversary party is thrown to fulfill some wants for Kaebrianl. Both are comfortably in the platinum after much work, and when 6PM rolls around, their bars do the little red zappy thing to add a day, and…roll back a huge chunk, about where they were before when it looked like they had at least four more days to go. Oookeeee. Annoyed, God turns attention to everyone else who got neglected in the final rush. However, the next day, the 6PM change makes both Juan and Kaebrianl’s bars even fuller than before, seemingly totally full, and they’ve both fallen out of platinum because it looked like they had plenty of time. Now the rush is REALLY on, because it isn’t clear whether they’ll expire sometime after this change or wait until the next day at 6PM, so they have to stay platinum the whole time. Juan is sent to max his creativity skill while Kaebrianl hurries out to meet a new Sim. She’s almost totally red on energy, so she keeps trying to go to bed but is repeatedly roused to try and get a skill point to give her a margin of platinum. After getting back in bed over and over and over, she’s allowed to rest longer in the hopes that she can fit in some skilling after waking up. By the time Juan finishes his skill point for an aspiration boost and comes downstairs, he freezes at the foot of the stairs. The Grim Reaper floats over from the other end of the house–I guess he came in the front door, not like anyone ELSE will do that–and Juan hulas urnward, a platinum Knowledge Sim. Since Kaebrianl is in bed, only Sandy and Michaiah are there to weep. After their brief wave of grief passes, they dance together next to the urn. When Kaebrianl finally gets up, seemingly unfazed by her husband’s death, she’s put to work fulfilling some wants. Foremost is a want to have a party, followed by a want to be best friends with Daniel Pleasant. Though only Norman is home to help her, she throws a midday party, inviting Daniel and a few other friends. She’s almost twenty lifetime relationship points short of being best friends with Daniel, but now that Juan is dead, she takes advantage of her newfound freedom to flirt with Daniel and open up the big point earners on the menu–hugs and kisses. Daniel, a Romance Sim, seems pleased by all the attention, and they’re shortly best friends, keeping Kaebrianl safely in platinum before the clock rolls past six. Once it does so, her bar promptly rewinds back to the less full level again. GOD DAMN IT. I guess she and Juan had some symbiotic thing going where both their bars would read Juan’s age one day, her age the next?

Anyway, the mystery continues: is Kaebrianl on her last legs, or will she keep darting back from the brink of death? Tune in next time…
